Our dear Ella turned seven a couple of weeks ago. We celebrated with Tannis's family in Canmore, and she had a party with her buddies the following week. In some ways it seems like she's been seven for a couple of years already, but other times we're reminded that she's still a little girl. She's got a sweet soul, this one -- kind and generous with a dollop of silliness and a love of laughter. She really does brighten our days with her running commentary and willingness to help out.
Ella appears to be thriving this fall -- schoolwork comes fairly easily, she's loving her voice lessons with
Rochelle, her HLP and AIM classes seem to be going well, and she's been very social. I'll have to scan some of her recent art, as she's been drawing up a storm. Graphic novels seem to be catching her attention lately -- stuff like
Babymouse,
Copper, and
Amulet.
